'IUD' Stands for Intrauterine Device. An intrauterine device is a small T-shaped device that is inserted into your uterus and provides effective contraception for 5-10 years. Some medicated IUDs also provide period control.
Other common names for IUDs are IUS (intrauterine system) or LARC (Long Acting Reversible Contraception).

Taking an anti-inflammatory medication approximately one hour prior to your appointment can help with cramping post insertion.
Remember to be able to pee when you arrive so that we can complete a urine pregnancy test prior to insertion.
